Mt. Diablo

Today we road up to Mt. Diablo. The sun was setting and it was absolutely beautiful!! Jonas slept and didn't seem too interested in the scenery...lol. His Nanny however was in awe of God's creation.

Jonas's First Week

Well it's been awhile since I've updated everyone. Let's see where do I begin.....I think I will begin with thanking God for allowing David aka Poppy to be able to drive from San Anna, Ca to see Jonas. It was not planned but the Lord worked his schedule so he was able to come for one night and go back to work. It was such a wonderful surprise, God is soo good!! Now for the update on Jonas:) He has gained 3 ounces over the past two days and he is coming home in the morning! Yay! Today Bethany and Nathan was able to give him a bath, that was exciting. He is such a lil sweetie pie, I just can't wait to have him here at the house with us! His mommy and daddy are doing good, ready for him to be home. For all my family and friends in Florida....I MISS YA'LL! It's hard being away for so long but at the same time I'm very thankful that I have been able to stay here during this time. I miss my other grandbaby, Logan, he has started talking since I've been here, he says "see that" when he wants you to look at something. I can't wait to hug him and give him smooches! Thank all of you for the continued prayers that have went up on our behalf.

Update on Jonas

PRAISE GOD!! Tonight Jonas drank from his bottle! Bethany pumped 10ml and he drank that plus 10ml of formula. The nurses said that he is doing awesome and they don't expect him to have to stay more than a week. His feeding tube should come out in the morning. Once again, God has answered prayer and we are so thankful!

At 4:15 p.m on Monday November 3, Jonas Lee Goddard made his entrance into the world. Being born at 34.5 weeks he weighed 5lbs 9oz and was 19" long. God has heard and answered many prayers, he is doing great! He will be in the NICU for a few days because he doesn't have the eating technique down yet. His lungs are doing great, he is keeping his temperature, and his oxygen levels are good. Bethany did an awesome job, I am so proud of her! Nathan is the typical proud daddy, showing off his skills to everyone...lol. I can not express how thankful I am for all of you that have prayed and kept our family uplifted and encouraged through this time. God truely is a God of miracles.

Hospital News

Well at about 8:10 last night ( Cali time) Bethany told me her water had broke. After she took a quick shower and Nathan and I threw a bag together we made it to the hospital. She was still only dilated to 1 so they started monitoring her. At 5 this morning they checked her again and she was at 2. They started her on Pitosium (not sure sp) and she progressed to 3. At around 9 she had her epideral and has been dozing on and off since. I will update when Jonas is here!! Thank everyone for your prayers!!

Hanging Out in California

Hey everyone, just wanted to update ya'll on Bethany. Bethany is at home now on complete bedrest and she is continuing the medication to keep the contractions under control. I got here on Tuesday and she was able to come home on Wednesday. I am so thankful to the Lord that He worked it out for me to be here to help. Nathan went back to work yesterday so he was also thankful that I was here:) So we are just hanging out here at the house enjoying each others company and trying to keep Jonas in the cooker at least for a couple more weeks...lol. Bethany has an appointment on Thursday so please pray that all is still going well. Also, please continue to pray for me...I am missing Logan like crazzy!!! This is a very hard time for me emotionaly trying to balance where I am needed the most but knowing that Josh, Sarah, and Logan will be moving away soon and I want be able to spend time with them before that happens. This new "season" of life for my family is going to be hard. I am trusting that God is in control of ALL things and that I can rest in Him and that no matter what I can find my joy and comfort in Him.

Last night we had our church's "Fall Fun on the Farm". We had such a great time roasting wienies, marshmallows, eating hobo stew and going on a hayride. I really appreciate our church family that put this all together and made in such an enjoyable time for young and old:)
I leave tomorrow morning at 5:40 am from Jacksonville to fly out to be with Nathan and Bethany. Bethany is still in the hospital at this time and we are still praying for God's will to be done concerning the birth of Jonas. Please continue to keep us all in your prayers.

Logan's First Trip to The Pumpkin Patch

There is a really neat place here in Live Oak called Magnolia Farms. It's like an organic farm with lots of animals and stuff. There is a gift shop there where you can purchase goat's milk lotions and soaps. They also have canned vegetables, soups and stuff that they make right there. I bought some pumpkin butter and a pumpkin bread mix (I was thinking of you, Patti) We went on a hay ride and we got to pick out our pumpkins to take home. We had a lot of fun! He thought he was strong enough to lift the darn thing. I'm trying to take advantage of every single moment I can like this because I know there will be so much I will miss when they move:(

*A quick update on Bethany*
She is still in the hospital, still having contractions, still taking medicine to stop them, still needing our prayers!!

Please Pray

Please keep praying for Bethany, Nathan and Jonas. It looks like Jonas will make his arrival about 6 weeks early. At this time Bethany is in the hospital and they are trying to stop her labor with medication at least until next Wednesday. I will be flying out on Tuesday to go be with them. I know God has them in His care, if I didn't have faith in Him I would be loosing my mind!

Hard Day in the life of a Mom

Josh left for Coast Guard basic training on October 7th. This was a very emotional day for all of us. Logan broke Sarah and I's heart as Josh was walking out to get on the bus he was able to hug and kiss us good bye, after he did that and started walking away Logan reached out for him and started crying....talk about a tear jerker!! I am so proud of Sarah, she held up very well and I know she will be strong during this time. We are very proud of both our boys serving our country. This is going to a very long 7 weeks!!

Our Li' Man Turns 1

October 5th was Logan's 1st birthday, it's hard to believe he is one already! We all know what turning one means.....first haircut.
Meme gave him his first haircut and he looks like such a big boy now.

Time Away

Thanks to our friends, Pat and Debbie, we were able to spend the week of September 22-26 on the beach in Daytona. Josh, Sarah and Logan were able to come down a few days also and we had a blast. Logan didn't like the water too much cause it was cold! I'm so glad we had this time to spend with Josh before he left for basic training. It was a much needed break for us.

Trip to Cali

In September I was able to fly out to California to see Nathan and Bethany. I was so excited because I didn't think I was going to able to see them before the baby was born. We had a great week together. I was able to give Bethany a baby shower and help get Jonas' room put together. And we did lots of shopping! (which btw Bethany did not complain about...lol) We ate lots of yummy food, including a turkey dinner with all the fixins'. I got to meet Ace, my doggy grandson:) (He loves me) Jonas is a big boy, he takes up lots of room in his mommy's belly!!
